“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).

God offers a new beginning for those who are in Christ Jesus.

1. It begins with a new birth

  • That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6 NKJV)

  • Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:18-19 NKJV)

  • There is no comparison to our God

  • He forgives our wrong doings

  • He forgets our sins

  • He doesn't hold a grudge – He didn't hold back his anger forever

  • He delights in being merciful

  • He will have mercy again and again

  • He buries our iniquities

  • He casts all our sins into the depths of the sea

2. Old things are left behind

  • God erases our past

  • Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, (Philippians 3:13 NKJV)

3. All things are made new

  • God does not choose some things and others not

  • He makes all things new

4. Christ lives in us

  • With Christ I am crucified together, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me; and what I now live in the flesh, I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not reject the grace of God; for if righteousness were by the law, then Christ died. (Galatians 2:20-21 NKJV)

  • God gives us a new life

    • The past life no longer exists

    • Now Christ lives in us

  • A Life of Faith in His Son

    • Jesus loved us and gave himself

God loves us and does not want us to live in the past. He is adept at doing new things. If we have Christ in our hearts, we can rest in the assurance that our past no longer exists.

God wants to write a new story in the book of your life. If you haven't given your heart to him yet, this is the opportunity. Give him your heart. He wants to forgive you and erase all your sins.

If you have Christ in your heart and you feel that the enemy accuses you because of your past, God wants to remind you that He has already forgiven you and is doing something new in your life. Accept His forgiveness today and free yourself from your past.
